Our Mission

At Shadow & Glass, we believe every photograph is a tiny piece of history—unique, irreplaceable, and worth preserving. Across attics, flea markets, estate sales, and auctions, countless film negatives are left to degrade. Without intervention, many of these images would vanish forever. We seek out these discarded memories, so they have a chance to find a new life as part of your story.

Each item selected for the collection is carefully cleaned, digitized, and restored with meticulous attention to detail. Our goal is to recover clarity and depth while preserving an image's authenticity. Tools like "AI fill" and "AI face enhancement" are never used.

Even without names or context, these photographs are windows to the past. They are a lasting artifact of moments that will never be repeated. We hope you will help us keep them around for a little longer.

Our Prints

Every photograph from Shadow & Glass is treated as both a work of art and a piece of history. That same care extends to how each print is produced.

We offer two print options:

• Standard Prints - High-quality reproductions on premium lustre photo paper with a subtle satin finish. Our standard prints offer vibrant color, deep shadows, sharp detail, and reduced glare compared to traditional glossy prints at an affordable price.
• Giclée Prints - Produced with archival inks on thick, textured cotton rag paper, these fine art prints provide a soft tonal range and the highest image quality. Designed for exceptional longevity, our giclée prints are true heirlooms.

Each image is made available in multiple sizes. Available sizes may vary depending on the dimensions of the original negative. Please feel free to contact us if you would like one of our images printed at a different size. (We may not be able to accommodate all custom requests.)

IMPORTANT:

All prints are sold unmatted and unframed. All prints come with a half-inch border. The print sizes listed in the store reflect the size of the image area. The paper dimensions will be slightly larger (half an inch added to each side) to account for the border. All Giclée prints are shipped flat. The larger sizes of the Standard prints may be shipped rolled in a sturdy shipping tube.

While Giclée prints are (generally) longer lasting and more archival than standard photo prints, the paper they are printed on is more susceptible to things like scratches or abrasions. We recommend handling them with great care when removing them from their shipping material.
